Preparation

FOC seeks to recruit personnel who not only have excellence in their profession but also excellence in their character. Every person introduced to China by FOC is given an orientation in order to prepare them for life and work in China, including issues relating to cultural sensitivity. Contact is maintained with these individuals to ensure that they are adjusting and performing well.

All FOC Associates participate in an orientation programme to prepare them for life and work in China. Normally all long-term FOC Associates are expected to undertake two years of full-time language study in China, unless they already have good Mandarin Chinese. FOC is privileged to have good relationships with a number of wellknown universities and colleges in China and can introduce students to them for language study.
